Summertime Blues Session 2024:

*Beginner Blues

1 -3 day Class

10am-4pm

Students will explore the history of South Carolina indigo on a rustic sea island farm. Participants will learn how indigo is grown, harvested and processed. A hands on class where we will create and dye with an all natural, organic indigo vats.

*Field to Fiber Blues

3-7 day Class

10am-4pm

Students will learn about the indigo plant; indigofera suffruticosa, from Field to Fiber, and create 3 all natural, organic indigo vats.

*Fermentation Blues

7-14 day Class

Students will learn how to create a fermented indigo vat, which is a ancient indigo vat recipe and method of dyeing. We will also harvest from Blue School’s wild woods a local, “wonderful weed” , to feed our local fermentation vat.

$375.00 per day per person

All Classes include all supplies, materials and Seasonal/ Local Lunches.
